BFF's

These little gals are so fun. They want their pics taken VERY often. (Luckily for Jackson) and they are very good practice for me. They are BFF's and do just about everything together. We curled hair and picked out some headbands and whalah they were ready for photos. Aren't they SO pretty! They have FANTASTIC eyes.

I tried new action and I LOVE it (maybe too much). Adds lots of contrast and a little Vintagey feel. Gives the photos that LOMO effect. I heart LOMO.

First Day of Preschool!

Yeah for Jackson! He has started preschool! (on August 24th)  and thus far he loves it!

When I dropped him off on the first day he told me, "Mom can you be done taking pictures now, I have to go to school." :(

I really expected him to have a little seperation anxiety. He didn't, but I did.  Oh well....Here are a few pics from the first day.

Is it really a surprise?

In August we in Enterprise for the CornFest. After checking out the booths and running into people from the past we headed to my parents. They have a four wheeler and Gator and the boys love riding and climbing on them. We had just gotten back from the store when Dylan took a tumble off the Gator and split his head open. My mom called the P.A. for the Enterprise Valley Medical Clinic and he opened up the clinic and let us in. He said it was a pretty good gash and could use a couple of stitches. (a first in the Mommy milestones) We discussed it and decided to use glue stitches because if you know Dylan there would be no way he would hold still long enough for a needle and thread.

Is it any wonder his head looks like this?

 When we find him Here......

Or here....wait, wait, wait....

or here.....

or here.....or my favorite place so far.....

.....here?

Yep that's my Dyl. My little adventurer and climber. He'll learn one day....Right?

The misAdventures of photography....

It has been a long time since I just sat Jackson down and did a few pics of just him. I decided that that day was going to be yesterday. We talked about it the night before, and I promised we would go to Sue's Pet Castle if he was "a good listener for mom."

The next morning I set up the backdrop on my table and Jax woke up JUST in time for some nice lighting in my kitchen. He was already wearing his favorite shirt (cause it wore it the two previous days....and nights) As we are walking into the kitchen to start, there was a KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK on the door. And it was THAT knock...You know, the one when you know it is the best friend at the door? Yep, it was Connor. Jackson's favorite little buddy. I KNEW I wasn't going to get jackson to take pics now...so I invited Connor in to do pictures with us. And it was SO fun. Connor wanted me to do his hair in a Mohawk. So I did. And it stood at least 6 inches tall! After everyone's hair was done. (except mine of course) I started on the pics. I did a few of just Jackson....

and CRASH! the backdrop fell over on top of Jackson. Dylan had crawled up the other side of the table and pushed it over! the backdrop came back hit dylan in the stomach and knocked him off of the table (luckily he landed on the same chair he climbed up on)  It hit Dylan so hard in the stomach puked and pooped at the same time and he had a huge cut on his belly from the wood. So off to instacare to make sure all was well with little Dyl's insides.

A few minutes later, and I really mean a few minutes, the nurse just told us to go home and watch him and if he got extra cranky or if we saw any blood come up or out to go to the Emergency Room. (OH. thanks lady.) We make it back home and do some pics of Connor...and this kid has PERSONALITY!

Then we did some together. Because they are besties you know.

BUT WAIT!!!!!
The story doesn't end there! After these shots were taken the boys went outside to play. About 30 minutes later Jackson runs into the house screaming his head off saying Connor stuck a stick in his ear. You can imagine my surprise, So I look (as far as I can see) into Jackson's ear. No blood.

ME (holding Jax)...Ohhhkayy son, calm down.....
Jackson (near hyperventilation and crying)....It hurts, he just took a stick and poked my brain!
ME...Oh man! Take a deep breath...why did you let him put a stick in your ear buddy?
Jackson (still crying and a look of DUH on his face)....cause we were playing doctor and Connor was the doctor!

Luckily Ben was home from cleaning carpets already, because I was not about to show my face at the same instacare twice in one afternoon! But to no avail, the nurse recognized Jackson from earlier. ***SIGH***

So...2 trips to Instacare, 1 ruptured ear drum and a $100 perscription for ear drops later (and that was AFTER a $25 off coupon), Both children are fine and I am a happy mom cause I got the pics I wanted. (Its a wonder why i don't take more "professional looking" pics of my kids)
